How to Apply for NADRA Family Registration Certificate (FRC) Online?

Step 1: Visit the Nadra Pak Identity Website and Download the Pak-ID App
To start the application process, visit the Nadra Pak Identity website at https://id.nadra.gov.pk/e-id/ and download the Pak-ID app from the Google Play Store or Apple Store. These platforms provide a user-friendly interface for applying for various documents, including the FRC. Now you can be processed in the mobile app or on the website. Both have the same process mentioned below.

Step 2: Register an Account
Create an account on the Nadra Pak Identity website or within the Pak-ID app. Registration requires providing your basic personal information, CNIC number, and fingerprint scanning for creating a secure login. If you already have a NADRA account, then proceed to log in.

Step 3: Start a New Application and Choose the Relevant Category
Once registered, click on the “Start New Application” button on the website.

Or ”Apply Now” in the mobile app but the FRC function application process is still not available in the mobile app so better to proceed through the website.

On the website select the appropriate category for your FRC application, which is the first option “Issuance of the identity document CNIC, NICOP, FRC, POC”. After that, choose the “Family Registration Certificate” option in the identity document section and click on “Start Application.” Now, in the application details, write your/applicant’s citizen number (CNIC, NICOP, FRC, or POC, whichever you have) and click the “ENTER” button next to the text box. If your citizen number is valid, it will be marked with a green tick. Now, there are two options available: applying on the basis of spouse and children or on the basis of parents and siblings. Choose the one that fits your situation.

Step 4: Upload Required Photographs
Click on the “Browse” button, select your biometric picture from the computer, and click on the “Upload” button. Now you can also take a biometric picture in PAK-ID mobile app. To do this, pause the application on the computer, open the PAK-ID app on mobile, click on a pending application, go to the biometric picture tab, and take a picture. Then come back to the computer and continue.

Step 5: Family Member Verification
Now add the citizen numbers of all your family members, select the appropriate relationship one by one, and click on “ADD MEMBER.” If you are applying as married, add the citizen number of your wife and children (if you have any). If you are applying as a child, add your parents and other family members/siblings’ citizen numbers and select the right relation. If the data is correct, a verified sign will appear in front of each citizen’s number.

Step 6: Pay the Application Fee
Proceed to pay the application fee of PKR 1,000 by accepting the terms and conditions. NADRA offers three modes of payment:

Credit Card: Available for applicants residing abroad or in Pakistan.
Debit Card: Only available for overseas applicants.
e-Sahulat franchise: Only available for applicants residing in Pakistan.
Once the payment is done, the application will move to the next step.

Step 7: All Family Members’ Data Appears
Data of all the family members will appear after successful payment. Now cross-check names, spellings, and relations, and correct them. You can only correct the missing data in blank boxes or data that NADRA doesn’t have. Once you correct the data, click on “SAVE” and move to the next step.

Step 8: Upload Family Members’ Biometric Pictures
Now, one by one, upload biometric pictures of all the family members that will appear in the next step. Click on “Browse,” select a picture from the computer, and click on “Upload.” After completing this step, click on the “SAVE” button. Or, go to PAK-ID mobile app, log in, click on a pending application, biometric picture, and take pictures of your family members. After that come back on the computer and continue. Do whatever is easy for you.

Step 9: Scan Fingerprints on the Mobile App
Now, download and open the PAK-ID app on your mobile phone, and log in with your NADRA account. Once you log in, you will see your ongoing application in the app. Click on this application, then go to the “Fingerprints” tab at the bottom. Now, scan left or right-hand fingers according to your own preference. Click on the desired left or right-hand fingerprints button and scan your fingers using the camera by following the screen instructions and clicking “OK.” Once you successfully scan your fingerprints in the mobile app, go back to your application on the computer and click on the blue round arrow icon (↺). By clicking on this sign ↺, your application will automatically update on the computer.

Now, click on the “DOWNLOAD FORM” button and download the application form to your computer. If you have already scanned your fingerprints on the mobile app, then the downloaded form will have the fingerprint boxes filled with “NOT REQUIRED” text. If you see these boxes with “REQUIRED” text, then scan your fingerprints in the mobile app again and download the form. Alternatively, you can also put your fingerprints on the form by using ink. But in this case, you need high-quality ink and a high-quality scanner. So, it is better to use the PAK-ID app for fingerprints.

Step 10: Sign and Scan the Form
Now, sign the form digitally on a computer or mobile in Adobe Acrobat or print the form using the printer, sign it, and scan it on the computer. The signature must be the same as on the ID card. The system will not accept different signatures. Scanned documents must be scanned at 600 dpi. Set the dpi in your scanner application on your computer. Now, go to the pending application, click on the “BROWSE” button, select the 600 dpi scanned form, and click on the “UPLOAD” button. Once the form appears as an uploaded file, click on the “SAVE” button. If the form will be less than 600 dpi or low quality then the system will not accept it. In this case, scan it correctly and then upload it again.

Step 11: Review and Submit the Application
Now, all the information will appear on the screen in draft form. Carefully review it, accept all the declarations by marking them, and submit the application. If you find any mistakes, you can correct them before submitting the application. After successful submission, you will receive a confirmation email with a tracking ID.

Step 12: FRC Arrives via Email
After a few hours, NADRA will send your FRC to your email address in PDF format. Now, print it and use it as you want.

Important Notes:

  • It is crucial to carefully follow the provided guidelines for document scanning, photograph requirements, and fingerprint capturing. This will ensure that your uploaded files meet the necessary standards and expedite the processing of your FRC application.
  • It is also crucial to provide accurate information and genuine documents during the application process. Providing fake information or forged documentation can lead to legal consequences under section 30 of the NADRA Ordinance 2000.
  • If any family members are not registered with NADRA or have incomplete information, they will not be linked to the FRC. In such cases, those family members need to modify their ID cards with their parents’ ID card numbers.
  • English name spellings can be corrected, but changing the name of any family member is not allowed.

By following these steps, you can easily apply for a Family Registration Certificate (FRC) online. The process ensures that your family composition is accurately reflected in the FRC, providing you with an essential document for various official purposes. Remember to provide correct information and adhere to the guidelines to ensure a smooth application process.
