IT Training at Sindh Governor House: A plan to empower youth and transform Karachi into an IT Hub of Pakistan.
In a groundbreaking move, the Sindh Governor, Kamran Khan Tessori, has unveiled an ambitious plan to provide free IT training courses to 50,000 young individuals in Sindh. These modern-age technologies are artificial intelligence, metaverse, cloud computing, Web 3.0, and blockchain. To ensure the success of the initiative. The program is set to begin after Ramadan. It will involve an aptitude test at the Governor’s House to select eligible candidates for the IT courses. Governor Tessori emphasized that successful completion of the training will enable graduates to earn lucrative salaries ranging from Rs. 300,000 to Rs. 500,000 per month. The Governor House, with its spacious unused rooms, offers an outstanding location for providing IT education to aspiring individuals.
To ensure high-quality training, the Sindh Government has partnered with charitable organizations and NGOs experienced in IT education. These organizations will collaborate to offer courses in artificial intelligence, data science, web development, graphic design, blogging, and digital content creation.
The initiative aims to benefit financially constrained students who lack the means to enroll in private institutes. Facilities such as cafeterias, libraries, business incubators, and state-of-the-art IT laboratories will be made accessible to the students, creating a conducive learning environment.
Additionally, the Sindh government has signed two memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with Google, engaging international companies in the training efforts. Through these collaborations, teachers and students in government-run schools will receive computer and internet literacy training. The program will initially involve 250 students and 100 teachers from five selected schools, with plans to expand to more schools in the future.
The Sindh Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (STEVTA) play a pivotal role in reducing unemployment by equipping young individuals with modern technical skills aligned with international standards. STEVTA is actively working to enhance the curriculum and establish an institute in Hyderabad capable of training 500 students.
